SHATTERED GLASS 2022

Shattered Glass is about mental health. It represents a journey of the emotional toll the pandemic has on youth and young adults in relation to perception. Perception of their relationships with others, themselves, and their view of reality.

The first track of Shattered Glass begins with a mix of real and synthesized instruments all mixed together representing the beginning of a loss of clarity. Next the listener is taken through various dreamy and emotive tracks that each represent a different mindset. Disappointment, melancholy, grief, disbelief, and longing. The final track shatters the haze of emotional turmoil and we are hit with clarity. The sound of a pure grand piano and acoustic instruments awaken the listener from a dream, and bring to light true reality.

Throughout 2020-2022 depression, derealization, suicide and other mental health disorders became more prevalent in young people.

"We are the the voices of the youth and young adults, who in some ways, were affected the most by the pandemic. We faced the uncertainties of the future, during a time when we were supposed to be figuring out our purpose. For a while we were prevented from making decisions and choices that would decide our future."
